Chicken Manchurian
When looking through my recipe index a few days ago, I noticed that chicken Manchurian was not yet posted.
2 Cup Chicken (cubed).
1/4 cup All-purpose flour
1/4Cornflour
1tsp Ginger garlic paste
1tsp Green chili paste
Salt
For Manchurians:
1no Onion(diced)
2nos Capsicum (cut in small square pieces).
4nos Garlic cloves (chopped)
2tbsp Soya sauce
2tbsp Tomato ketchup
1tsp Rice Vinegar
1 tbsp. Corn flour, dissolved in water
Salt to taste (if necessary)
Deep-frying chicken in oil
Use oil for saluting
Combine all-purpose flour, corn flour and salt in a
large bowl. Add the garlic-ginger paste, green chili paste, and salt. Combine the flour with the water to make a thick batter.
In a large skillet, heat oil. Dip the chicken cubes in the batter and then drop them
gently into the hot oil. Keep the oil
aside.
Add oil to a large skillet. Once the oil has smoked,
add the chopped onions and capsicums and cook for a few seconds. Then add the minced garlic and salt to the pan. Fry for one
minute.
Stir in the soy sauce, vinegar, and cook for one
minute. Reduce heat, then add the corn
flour and water.
Mixture will begin to thicken. Keep stirring over low
heat until mixture becomes semi-thick. Add the tomato ketchup, then add the
fried chickens.
Continue stirring for about a minute until it becomes
soft. Then, remove it from the fire.
If necessary, garnish with chopped spring onions.
Hot with noodle, fried rice, or as an appetizer with chicken Manchurian.
